International Franchise Association (IFA) sponsored Show in LA
I was selected to develop and teach a new curriculum for the two key workshops that provide franchisee-specific education during franchise shows sanctioned by the International Franchise Association (IFA).
This week in Los Angeles, I conducted a 3-hour seminar called the A to Zs of Franchising, a course designed to teach the basic information about franchising. I showed perspective franchisees how to interpret and use the Franchise Disclosure Document. I think that many attendees now have a better idea of how to discover reliable information about the performance and viability of any franchise, how to evaluate the franchisor’s operating system and determine the key facts about territorial and product restrictions. I even presented a short but eye-opening segment on negotiating the Franchise agreement. The feedback was great and I was mobbed at the end by attendees asking more questions!
