Franchise Buyer’s Agent. If you’re planning to purchase a franchise and would like to be professionally represented throughout the process, I can help. Unlike a regular “Franchise Consultant, ” I work for you on a fee basis (I never receive a commission from a franchisor). I don’t represent any franchisor, instead I can provide the assistance and preparation you’ll need to successfully select, negotiate, purchase, and finance the franchised business that is right for you! I will teach you the insiders’ secrets to finding your ideal franchise and purchasing it on the best possible terms and provide expert direction and guidance throughout the research, evaluation, selection, due-diligence, negotiation, financing, and pre-opening phases of franchising. Because of my affiliation with FranchiseRight, you’ll have the opportunity to attend their a 4-hour orientation webinar plus a 2-day live workshop at no additional cost (see www.franchiseright.net for details on this course)!

Franchisor Advisor. I offer professional, board level advisory services to assist entrepreneurs and their development team with franchising and funding. Whether the company is thinking of franchising (i.e., conducting a franchise feasibility study or developing a strategic plan), is already in the development process, or is preparing for market entry, I can provide valuable input.  With specialized expertise in the development, funding, and operation of franchising companies, my Advisory role provides the balance of expertise necessary for your company to achieve its objectives.

Franchise Educator. I produce and often personally host FranchiseRight webinars, seminars and workshops. I am particularly proud to join the other FranchiseRight instructors, expert guest speakers, and coaches who conduct the Franchisor Boot Camps, Advanced Franchisor Training Weeks,  the Angel Investment Workshops, and other advanced training sessions offered by FranchiseRight.  I teach business people how to leverage their intellectual property, protect their assets, and even how to sell their business at a higher multiple (or license their IP to a third-party as a ready-made franchise system) by taking the critical first step in developing an expansion and exit strategy. I also show entrepreneurs how to prepare and present a business to attract capital investment on favorable terms and supported valuations.

Franchise Speaker. As “Thought Leader” of FranchiseRight, each year I am asked to speak at numerous events and venues. The subject is always franchise related but the topic varies. No matter what the topic though, I like to mention my three-prong approach to business success (i.e., “Excel”, “Expand”, and “Exit”).  Fortunately, my approach applies whether you are a franchisor (franchising a business), a franchisee (purchasing or operating a franchise), or an investor in a franchise (Angel investor or partner).  I focus on helping small business owners to realize their potential whether that is simply to provide the ultimate in customer service or be recognized by their local community as the “best” in their particular business category (Excel). A prudent business owner should only consider opening an additional location or franchising (Expand) if the business has truly reached a level of excellence. And, I always ask about their future with the business and the transition or retirement plan (Exit).

Business Planner. I take a markedly different approach to preparing and presenting investment-grade business plans. My proprietary plan format is information-rich, easy to read and popular with equity funding sources.   Plans feature a clear investment and exit strategy including a post-dilution stock allocation/ownership chart with interim valuations reflecting successive private or public offerings. “Use of Funds”, “Capital Investment”, “Working Capital”, and “Start-up” expenses, together with offering costs are fully analyzed and documented. My proprietary predictive financial modeling software determines sales requirements for an optimum valuation and the necessary return on investment (ROI) to the support the funding request. Franchise business plans include industry-specific financial projections based on a specific number of franchises sold and operating. Clients who require additional capital to finance franchise development or enter the market can rely on my process and documentation to encourage investor activity.  I have a successful record for attracting financing and I have personally invested in worthwhile franchise concepts in the “seed” stage – the highest risk category.
